I'm soooooo sick of the gym.

Trying to weasel out of going tonight.

Bleargh.

Must. Force. Self. To.....Move. Ugh.

Anyone else experiencing exercise burnout? How do you combat it?

EDIT: I made it! ^_^ Now just need to get myself to go tomorrow, and that'll be three times a week! yay!

I read an article in a magazine recently about this...how doing the same excersize routine gets boring and people often drop it....and they suggested trying something new for a while, switching to jogging, or buying a new workout tape, or coming up with a new routine at the gym...something to switch it up a bit. Even if only for a while.

Good idea...I wonder what I can do different at Curves...I don't think they'll let me go the opposite way of the rotation. Maybe I can just start in a different place...I don't want to skip days at the gym to do something else, b/c I'd feel like I was wasting money...Maybe I can mix it up on the recovery boards a bit more.

Ask them if they do the "Advanced Workout". It's a way to step up the normal Curves routine and it gives you something new to focus on.

If they don't, I'd be happy to point them in the right direction (I just got back from regional Curves training).

Oh yeah! One of the women that works there mentioned that she wanted to show it to me when I got back from California...it's just counting your reps, right? Or is it different?

Sort of. One of the coaches will go around with you and make sure your form is absolutely perfect on all the machines, and will push you to squeeze more reps in for most of them. The two of you will work to keep your heart rate right around 80% for the entire workout. Then you'll get a "prescription" card for the next three months, with an assigned number of reps for each machine.

When we first started, I thought "that's no big deal. I already push myself really hard" until I was training all the coaches by having them practice on me... and it really kicked my ass!

sounds cool! ^_^ I'll have to ask them to hook me up with it as soon as I get back from vacation.
